Acute Flaccid Myelitis 1

Dr. Seruya has done an amazing job from day one! Before he reached out to us, we were told from all previous doctors that we had absolutely no options or possibilities for my daughter to recover mobility of her arm. When Dr. Seruya reached out to us and advised us of the nerve transfer surgery option it was the best news we’ve heard since she was diagnosed with Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) 5 months prior. We made the decision to do the surgery and at this point she is progressing amazingly! Even though we are still at the earlier stages of recovery, since the surgery, the progress is visible, and so far things are looking way better than before surgery. It is working, we are seeing results! The recovery is on track and we are excited to see more as she continues to work with the OT team. Dr. Seruya’s commitment and the extremely high level of care that him and his specialized team continued to provide, before, during and after surgery, is impressive!. He has followed our daughter’s recovery extremely closely. We are so happy and pleased with the results so far, our prayers were answered, it is working, we are seeing results!
